SERIES PREMIERE - Batman is dead, and a powder keg has ignited Gotham City without the Dark Knight to protect it. Throughout the interview, Abrams tells the origin story of how the show came to be, how Gotham Knights stand out from other DC TV shows, and the experience of getting to create a whole new Gotham City. After having worked on Batwoman, Abrams is now bringing the Gotham Knights to life on The CW this season. The Flash Podcast and Multiverse of Color’s Andy Behbakht recently had the honor of chatting with co-executive producer and creator Natalie Abrams, a former entertainment journalist who is no stranger to the world of DC TV.
As they have to clear their name, these individuals will also, along the way, become known as the Gotham Knights, the city’s next generation of heroes. Tonight, Gotham Knights finally premiere on The CW, which follows the story of Bruce Wayne’s adoptive Turner Hayes and a group of troubled teenagers who get framed for Batman’s murder. The premise alone is enough to entice any player, and the focus shifts to other members of the Batman Family this time around.A new DC TV show for The CW arrives tonight as we are returning to Gotham City, but a very different version this time around. Being made by the same folks who did the Arkham series, you can expect the same level of quality and gameplay as their previous outings.
The wait is almost over as you finally get to play a new Batman game. You can opt to prepurchase it now and you will get the in-game bonus in the form of the 233 Kustom Batcycle Skin. As of this writing, there are some months left to go before its Octorelease. Play the campaign solo or with a friend via a two-player co-op mode, with the second player able to drop in and out of your game freely. There is a vast open map of the city that you can explore using a variety of vehicles like the Batcycle. You can switch among them and level them up to increase their effectiveness in combat situations. Each one has its own unique play style and abilities.
In Gotham Knights, you get to choose to be one of Batman's descendants and successors, namely Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, or Robin. With its streets being swept up by the criminal underworld, it is now up to the Batman Family to protect the citizens, help the cops restore peace and order to the city, and put fear into the hearts of its gallery of villains, like their father-figure once did. Gotham Knights is set in the fictional world of Gotham City, where the Dark Knight is dead.
